Die Altersgrenzen und der Umgang damit hängen vom jeweiligen Anbieter und teils auch von einzelnen Reisen ab. Oft sind Reisen für junge Leute für Reisende von 18-39 oder 18-29 Jahren vorgesehen, manchmal auch für 20 bis 44 Jährige! Gewisse Überschreitungen der Altersgrenzen werden aber oft gerne toleriert.
Manchmal sind Reisen außerdem zwar besonders auf jüngere Reisende ausgerichtet, jedoch ohne konkrete Altersbeschränkungen bzw. Altersempfehlung. Durch die Art der Reisen ergibt sich jedoch auch ohne fixe Alterseinschränkungen oft ein junger Reiseteilnehmermix (z.B. durch ein sehr actionreiches Programm wie mit Dschungelwanderung, Tauchen, Canyoning, Kayaking, o.ä.).
Neben Einzelzimmern stehen normalerweise natürlich auch auch Doppelzimmer für Freund/-innen oder Pärchen zur Verfügung. Teilweise werden für Alleinreisende „halbe Doppelzimmer“ angeboten, die sich diese dann mit Mitreisenden (üblicherweise gleichen Geschlechts) teilen.
Gruppenreisen für junge Leute sind zwar prinzipiell meistens nicht auf Alleinreisende beschränkt, sondern auch für Freund/-innen oder Pärchen buchbar, aber unter jungen Reisenden stehen die Chancen gut, dass der Anteil an Alleinreisenden und/oder Singles hoch ist. Wenn du ganz sicher nur mit Alleinreisenden und Singles reisen möchtest, wirf einen Blick auf die Singlereisen für junge Leute bzw. Reisen für junge Alleinreisende. Bei diesen sind die unteren und oberen Altersgrenzen jedoch oft etwas höher als bei allgemein zugänglichen Gruppenreisen speziell für junge Leute!
